The goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite XXI. Social media have changed the way we think about beauty. New, unrealistic standards of beauty based on Instagram pictures cause a tendency to seem rather than to be. We have become dependent on continuous and short-term social approval in the form of likes/views/retweets. Children born after 1996 are the first generation of children to have been hooked on social media since primary school. At an immature age, children began to compare themselves to unrealistic images on Instagram and form their visions of the world. Based on research by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States, with the advent of social media from 2009 to 2017, the number of suicides among girls aged 15-19 increased by 70%, and among girls aged 10-14 years - by 151%. Similar statistic with self-harm hospitalization. The destructive downside of human technological evolution. A constructive future is possible only in the balance of biological and technological spheres.
